Many years ago, I remember reading a Dear Abby letter where a woman was complaining about her husband wanting HER to be more expressive about her feelings during sex. The husband was actually passionate during & after lovemaking with "kissing, hugging & talk", (proof that men are capable of caring about other things besides just sex) while she didn't do that. Meanwhile these days, it seems like slow, loving, romantic sex is out of style or called "corny", & everyone (except for me) wants hard, raw, rough, kinky sex & to imitate porn videos. Frankly, I'm not a sex fiend so, if I can't have affection, cuddling, tenderness, romance, then I'm not interested...
"Sex in porn is not the exploration of one with another; it is an act of relief, like defecation.... " Clive Hamilton
And why are actors so "free" about showing their PRIVATE parts on screen & in front of a room of people ...
THINK about that!
"No SOUL-DEADENING porn or violence" Donald Fagen
BTW, just because I'm not interested in doing the crap,(sex parties, etc.) Rachel Bussel writes about in her moronic column, doesn't mean I'm not "sex-positive" or whatever.. Just because I'm a liberal, doesn't mean I have to be a whore.

What happened to LOVE?
"Making love is the most one can give physically & SPIRITUALLY to another. It is sacred."
This is actually paraphrased from a quote by actress Sherilyn Fenn, & I agree. Apparently no one else agrees anymore.
Nowadays everyone is in the gutter!
Just bodies using each other like toilet paper. Like animals.......meaningless encounters....
I made the mistake of not changing the channel quick enough when that vile TMZ came on, & then one of the morons on that show said something about how some girl is going to be on the phone talking to her mom bragging about being with 5 guys right after each other( that would be a "gang bang"- thanks, porn industry for such HORRIBLE inspiration) & calling it "living the L.A. dream"....
Sounds like a nightmare to me!

Parliament- Mothership Connection (Star Child)
So, I can't even completely count on the so-called old school radio stations like- Old School 100.3 FM (WRNB)- half the time, they don't even play the album versions of songs, & they don't play important artists like James Brown (what the hell?) or Bootsy Collins & the only P-Funk song they play is Flashlight, instead of far superior tunes like P-Funk Wants to Get Funked Up or Mothership Connection or Funkentelechy.......while they have time for crappy music from R.Kelly, Blackstreet, or Montell Jordan.
And don't get me started on what those I heart radio sadists did to WDAS-FM -now, they play more of what I call "gangsta R&B" ....
I put one of my favorite Funkadelic songs in an earlier post.

Untitled 2
I'm not putting Untitled (part 1) on this site..

You made me believe in something else
That there was a place I could go
To be free
Where nothing matters anymore
Where I could forget the hurt
The tears
But the next time I saw you
Its like that never happened
You were someone else
Who are you
What are you
I wish I could get those notes, those words, those eyes out of my head
Or at least you into my bed
But I can't
You take my breath away

An alternative, please....
Seems like everyone is what I would call hiphop these days, & what I mean by that is
-if you're male, you are misogynistic, thuggish, sleazy, say things like "I hit that" or uses the term "smashed" or "smash" when talking about sex
if you're female, you are similar to a "video vixen"/Beyonce/urban fiction character/sleeping with or marrying rappers (really?)/posing with your butt sticking out in a thong/appearing in so-called magazines like Black Men, which are full of video vixens, Love & HipHop women & whatevers/doing so-called dance moves involving your buttcheeks poppin, twerkin, or "clappin".
I'm NOT hiphop or "urban" or whatever you should call these types or what everyone on tv is glorifying these days.

Cameo - Single Life
REAL music(they're a funk band, silly)
REAL dancing(booty poppin & twerkin are NOT dancing)
This seems so innocent compared to what we have today.
Save hiphop?!!! Save me from hiphop....
Frankly,I'm sick of hearing about what corporations or whoever did to hiphop..what about what hiphop did to music?! Rap should've only lasted a few years like disco, but noooo, too many people stopped listening to real musicians & bands & ONLY listened to rap & it took over the airwaves, then before you knew it, R&B & pop songs started to sound a lot different- no more riffs, solos, or extended jams- suddenly,club-bangin beats became more important, I guess it takes too much effort to listen to a song where more than one instrument is being played at the same time.
So,the public starts to "think" rappers are more cool than people who play instruments.
And what in the hell happened to the kids who spent hours listening to Prince's Sign "O" The Times album in the late 80s, oh, I guess I was the only one, all my so-called peers had already moved on to rap, so when they grew up & had kids, they didn't expose them to examples of musicianship like the record I just mentioned...if they did, then, they would wanna grow up & be multi-instrumentalists, not rappers. And when I say the "the public", I'm talking about the black community, we contributed to the destruction of our music by accepting the most dumbed-down genre in music history.
Recently,Darlene Love & Merry Clayton were on Tavis Smiley & he asked them about today's "music" & they said what more people should be saying- Darlene talked about how its not real music, no real instruments & how everything is done on the computer now. Then, Merry mentioned how she loved hearing a bass guitar & drums under her....live music.
Meanwhile, we have supposedly educated & sophisicated actors going on about how they love Jay-Z....imbeciles!
The below quotes are from a letter someone wrote to a free weekly local newspaper many years ago...
"There are a lot of silent voices who view hip-hop with a great deal of annoyance & embarrassment. Many cats like myself thought hip-hop would be just a trend, what's tragic is how wrong we were."
