33 1/3 books...

I was just at amazon.com (later found out all of them weren't listed) looking up all the books in this series. I noticed a pattern of mostly male artists or should I say, books about albums by male artists/bands. Some are worthy, like Steely Dan, Prince, & Stevie Wonder. Others not so much. It would be nice if someone had the balls to write a book on Tim Buckley's Starsailor album..

Anyway, if I remember correctly, one of the few female artists I saw was Liz Phair?! You're kidding me right? Why does she get a book ..... cause she "sings" about blowjobs? Liz freakin Phair! But no books on Kate Bush or Laura Nyro?

Female singer/songwriters who paved the way for a Liz Phair are ignored. But guess who isn't ignored... the loathsome Kanye West, & a couple of other rappers & somebody named DJ Shadow... remember every white rock critic sold out & fell under the "street cred" spell, so they just have to embrace EVERY rapper, didn't you know? I guess they think that makes them NOT a racist, when actually its the opposite.

People need to question why the masses (all over the world) blindly accept & can't stop raving about rappers- the WORST examples of black culture.

Robert Christgau- Consumer Guide?

Reading Robert Christgau's "Consumer Guide" can be quite entertaining but it also can be quite annoying. Like for instance, I wanna know what the hell he was smoking when he suggests Laura Nyro was a fool in one of his Kate Bush album reviews. Meanwhile, on his Laura Nyro albums page, he is FOOLISH enough to start(!) at her more subdued Christmas & The Beads of Sweat album, while not even bothering to review her masterpieces- Eli & The 13th Confession & New York Tendaberry.

If he had bothered to LISTEN to those albums, he would know she's NO fool!

How is he the "dean of American rock critics" if he skips those 2 important albums? http://www.lauranyro.com

And you know what, he doesn't even like Flora Purim, so HE might be  the one who's a fool....

Programmed Pt. 2

Wow.... just made the mistake of turning on the Meredith Vieira show & heard some bimbo say she expected her husband to agree to an open (meaning your legs are ALWAYS open.... that's a joke..) marriage because he is "progressive & liberal".  HELLO!  Tells you how much things have changed.

There was a time when being progressive stood for such humane & wonderful concepts as civil rights, women's rights & being anti-war.

But now, apparently, it just means you're a kinky, hyper-pornographic sex fiend.....

Take Me Away

I wanna look out my windows and see water and the moon   Instead of malicious mouth runners- sitting on steps or porches, standing on corners, or middle of blocks  Wanna hear the music of the ocean or silence   Instead of cars blaring ignorant, filthy thug music    Or malt liquor drinkers and their vile voices   Or "mothers" cussing at their kids   And when I go out, I don't wanna be lecherously leered at   You can have your crowded  neighborhoods     I want space...

Go Along to Get Along

Some things that are considered good manners- frankly, make no logical sense. See, we have to suppress our emotions, so we won't be "rude".... that's what's being asked of us when we're EXPECTED to speak to or greet anyone & EVERYone.  I have to SNAP OUT OF IT, be happy, say hello & make "small" talk.

What am I, a robot?

Never mind I may not like the person, never mind, one of these people may turn around & talk about me behind my back or is judging me. We all have to be nice (not kind) & happy. You don't have to be a truly good person, you just have to have the "good manners'' to speak. Ever notice many of those so willing to speak to everyone- love to gossip about everyone & stare at you with their evil, judgmental eyes.... Now, THAT's bad manners!

Keep in mind, in this society, we're really not even allowed to be sad or express angst. Suppressing our emotions is the order of the day...reminds me of my family, they want me to SUPPRESS my anger,
even though they're the cause of so much of it. Some of my so-called family members will walk into a room, say some hurtful crap to me, then act like I'm the problem for getting angry or not wanting to be bothered with them. Sometimes I wonder if I'm related to narcissists with no conscience.

Well, I would rather be alone with my truth then constantly engaging with FAKE hypocrites.  Or neighborhood assholes who gossip.

Programmed!

Many years ago, I remember reading a Dear Abby letter where a woman was complaining about her husband wanting HER to be more expressive about her feelings during sex. The husband was actually passionate during & after lovemaking with "kissing, hugging & talk", (proof that men are capable of caring about other things besides just sex) while she didn't do that. Meanwhile these days, it seems like slow, loving, romantic sex is out of style or called "corny", & everyone (except for me) wants hard, raw, rough, kinky sex & to imitate porn videos. Frankly, I'm not a sex fiend so, if I can't have affection, cuddling, tenderness, romance, then I'm not interested...
"Sex in porn is not the exploration of one with another; it is an act of relief, like defecation.... " Clive Hamilton

And why are actors so "free" about showing their PRIVATE parts on screen & in front of a room of people ...

THINK about that!
"No SOUL-DEADENING porn or violence"  Donald Fagen

BTW, just because I'm not interested in doing the crap,(sex parties, etc.) Rachel Bussel writes about in her moronic column, doesn't mean I'm not "sex-positive" or whatever.. Just because I'm a liberal, doesn't mean I have to be a whore.

What happened to LOVE?

"Making love is the most one can give physically & SPIRITUALLY  to another. It is sacred."

This is actually paraphrased from a quote by actress Sherilyn Fenn, & I agree. Apparently no one else agrees anymore.

Nowadays everyone is in the gutter!

Just bodies using each other like toilet paper. Like animals.......meaningless encounters....

I made the mistake of not changing the channel quick enough when that vile TMZ came on, & then one of the morons on that show said something about how some girl is going to be on the phone talking to her mom bragging about being with 5 guys right after each other( that would be a "gang bang"- thanks, porn industry for such HORRIBLE inspiration) & calling it "living the L.A. dream"....

Sounds like a nightmare to me!
